Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to live in Snohomish County in order to be involved with the project?
No. Most of the veterans we've met with live in Snohomish County and the book will be donated to the Snohomish Senior Center. However, if you are interested in honoring a World War II veteran you can do so here whether you're familiar with Snohomish or not.
Are you a non-profit organization?
No. We are doing this project as family and as part of WoodMoore Photography, LLC. We do not have tax-exempt status and we cannot accept monetary donations for our project. If you are interested in giving, we ask that you consider purchasing a book as a gift for a participant or giving a service for the book dedication event.
Who are the book participants?
We interviewed 41 WWII veterans. We also met with three relatives (daughter, wife, and nephew) of deceased veterans. And we also interviewed a former Radio City Rockette who was involved with the USO during the war.
Who is publishing the book and how much does it cost?
At this time, we are self-publishing the book through www.blurb.com. The pre-order cost of each book is approximately $90 and we've added $10 to cover shipping, transaction, and packaging costs.
Has there been any media interest in this project?
Yes. The Snohomish Tribune and the Everett Herald both ran stories about our project. The links are below. Also, KSER radio aired an interview about the project in December.
